HELP! What should I do

Okay, this started out as a baby blanket for a teacher I know. I knit it across the long expanse and when it came off the needles it was entirely too long. I hate to rip it out...I bound it off. I didn't realize how wide it was until it came off the needles. I don't know what to do...it really looks like a shawl.
