Too Bad Our Sister Isn't Expecting Another

How about this cute pair of hats - on the right was the hat I first made and realized was too small. On the left is the version that I adjusted and made to fit our sister for her b-day. All this was part of the project to recreate the wild hat she fell in love with.

Too bad she isn't expecting - it would make a cute mother/child ensemble! No worries...I know a baby who can wear the hat next fall.

I did indeed try to recreate the ear flaps...it just doesn't work with this hat at all. Both are too intricate and now that I've looked at the original hat again, I really needed a heavier weight yarn - this is worsted weight (Lorna's Laces) and just too delicate.

However, I was very proud of my crochet efforts - I've never crocheted before and taught myself how to for this.
